distance of cast to catch smothies

Hi Lads

What kind of distance do you need for smoothies and were around kildare/dublin do you need to go to catch them

hi croppboy
ill fill u in on a few of my marks at the comp in galway tomorrow ive had plenty of smothies over 10 pound over the past 3 few years but none of them are in dublin or killdare and u dont need to cast over 100yrds for them eather
remind me to tell ya tomorrow as the demon drink is starting to take hold :twisted: :twisted: :lol:

from kildare ud have to be able to cast a long long way to get dem, id say about 40miles anyway :lol: :oops: :roll:

50 to 80 yards should be ok but depends on beach. Iv'e caught a good few at ennereilly but I reckon the best beach is tinnebearna {about 3 miles past kilmucridge heading south}. Fish to the left of the stream.There's a sandbar about 50 yards offshore try and cast just over it. If the smoothies are not co-operating drop a big bait short of the sandbar for bass .

Ennereily in the summer time very good caught one their a few weeks ago very small only a young one.

killiney beach produced quite a few smoothies last summer hopefully they will return this year. better chance in killiney than kildare but you could always try the canal in sallins :lol: :lol:

straight out fro the car park produced a good few smoothies last year in killiney and also there were a good few caught in dillanspark in dalkey last year to
