amazing day, weather was ubelievable. was a pleasent reminder of how much i enjoy catching wrasse. throughly a great fighting fish, managed to put a decent bend in the imax which is always pleasent. interestingly all fish came to lug fished in conjunction with a 2 inch red muppet, didnt have a bite without them...the pollack actually took when i was retrieving, dont think there was any bait on the hook.
also saw a shoal of what appered to be sea trout in one of the small bays.pretty sure they were sea trout as a few jumped and looked more trout shaped than mullet or bass.didnt appear to be feeding though. not to many runs on the conger rod although it was pretty bright when i was targeting them.

donal domeney wrote:Limpets also make a great backup bait but there far better for ground baiting. Scrape them out of the shell and cut them into very small pieces, great for getting the wrasse out of the holes to feed.
I've tried them before manys a time too but never had any success. Must try the groundbaiting idea...
