People:Me and mate Alan
Duration:5pm to 9pm
Tide:Dropping
Weather:Misty rain, with northerly winds. Mild
Bait:Sandeel & mac
Rigs:pulleys and flappers
Results:Pollock 23 Flounder 1 Turbot 2
Catch and Release:: Yes
Report:Went out after lunch to rock mark and got stuck into plenty of pollock up to 4lb. They were taking jellies fished of a 3oz lead and whilst not taking confidently we still managed about a dozen each. Good fun although Alan had got busted three times in a row the few days prior by much bigger fish so we were a bit dissapointed they didn't show.
Moved on to the beach at Stradbally for the evening and whilst the surf was in perfect nick it didn't fish all that great. I had a flounder of around 34cm whilst Alan took two turbot around 29cm, all fish fell to mackerel strip. Was a joy not to get plagued by small coalies though and the scenery down there was pretty impressive.

Im in Dingle from this Thursday until Monday. Cant wait although not a great report considering all I fish for are bass..! Very strange to hear pollock being taken from the beach. Would always try to have a worm bait for this beach if possible, lug if you can get it.

Sorry Eoghan, I didn't make it clear...pollock all taken from rock mark at Minard. Moved to the beach afterwards. :oops:
Interestingly one of the turbot had 14 sandeels in his gut!
