had something simular happen to me before and took me 16 hours to figure it out. i think thhat what may be wrong is there is a little ratchet mechanism inside that operates the anti reverse mechanism, this may no be fitted correctly.

hope this helps

Did you take the Mag end plate off or did you dismantle from the handle downwards. There is a knack to getting it to fit together if you take the Mag plate off.

If it's only the left hand side is giving you the problen the bump the mags, glue down the mag adjuster and use your thumb to slow it down The only time I adjust the mags is when I'm plugging.

The mag holder has to fit centrally and correctly located on the pins. The spring has to lift the mag holder, so make sure that is correct. When you are putting the end plate back on, make sure the mag holder locates into the slider mechanism. If you're not sure how it all goes back together, take it down to your local tackle shop and ask them if they would kindly put it back together for you - or ask a mate.

This can be a little arkward, but once you get it you'll know.

Take the mag end plate off again. When putting it back together, set the slider to position 5 on the magnetic adjuster, then fix the sideplate to the cage. Hold the end plate in place and slide the slider back to position 8 and you will hear a click, this should be everything clicking into place. Tighten the screws and you should be away.

Also,

Remember, when giving your reel a clean, remove the handle end plate and work from there. You would not normally need to go near the mag end plate.
