greystones mackerel

little bird told me a few mackerel caught on spinners at ballganon was down kilcoole on sun and the birds where going crazy diving on bait fish or sand eels looks like summers here early :lol:

specimens 09 - twait shad 1.22kg , 3 beard rockling 2lb 6oz , whiting 3lb .

fished south beach on saturday and in the 2 hours we were there 6-8 lads were spinning and plugging around the river - so definatly something in that...also seen a good sized sea trout(5-6lb) jump on 5 mile point on saturday.
Luck is when preparation meets opportunity..

Was doing a bit of spinning down at the stream last night at high tide,conditions were perfect but nothing was happening,still think it way to early for Mackerel down there.
A bad day fishing is better than a good day at the office!
