Could somebody clarify for me is it normal for a Mullet to have a yellow spot on it's head like Steve's, I don't ever remeber them having it. I know golden grey Mullet do but not thick lip or thin lip mullet. I not saying for a minute that this Mullet is a Golden grey but just wondering. ( it's 2lb to heavy and the tails the wrong shape I think)
i'd absolutely love to say it was a golden grey.. but alas.. i'll go check
GOLDEN GREY MULLET Upper lip less than half diameter of eye; jugular interspace oval. A
well defined golden spot behind eye and another on gill cover (not to
be confused with the golden reflection sometimes seen on gill-covers
of other species). Grows to about 18 inches.
based on that i have to say thick lipped grey
but hey, not bad for my first mullet of the year
