Clear Water?

#1 Post by Mr_Green »

I just was thinkin about fishin in clear water, crystal clear... what colour beads would u use/be more effective...im gonna test out a few colours and experiment over the weekend... i know red is only effective after a certain depth...the water is shallow enough... i was thinkin yellow as its a clear ground mark but as i said i will experiment over the next few days and see...ill be trying red, yellow and black... and what im sayin is the beads that u have in place to hold on ur snood swivel incase people get confused... any1 any insight?

Black, on the assumption that fish can't tell the difference between a little black bead and all the crud floating about.

(We can do a little experiment tomorrow Mr_Green!! Whoever catches the first bass must be using the right colour beads )

dont use attractors for bass but if targeting flats i use red pink yellow green luminus black orange ect and a little spinning blade normally about 10 to 15 beads and a size 2 hook. if the water is gin clear dont use any beads for snoods but make sure your weight has a swivel to stop the snoods spinning

flurocarbon snoods, two way clear beads for joining to the snoods to the trace line. no colour beads and the best bait you can get. let the bait do the work.

Two way beads are a simple way of making up flappers etc. The bead basically has two holes drilled through it. The heavy line is threaded through the normal way and either knotted or crimped in place, then the snood goes through the other opening.

Dave, I prefer white beads above any other colour. Flatties tend to eat the siphons of shellfish quite abit and being white in colour I think the fish have an instant attraction to that colour. Bellies of small dead fish/sandeel are white too which would naturally enough feature in their diets also.
