People:myself and my mate Jim

Duration:7.30pm-12am

Tide:coming in

Weather:sw breeze, showers

Bait:sandeel,mack,lug

Rigs:running leger, 3 hook flapper

Results:7 flounder,1 dab,6 coalies,1 seatrout and a small bass

Catch and Release:: Yes. well everything except the seatrout .

Report:Went out to Dunree after a good session in Tullagh the previous morning as i had a fair bit of bait left over and wanted to use it up.
It turned out to be another great session (for me anyway, Jim blanked for some reason using the same baits).Tide was well out when i arrived and not much surf to speak of so i wasn't expecting much. The first hour or so was the best when we still had some light ,all the flatties except one were caught during daylight.
just as the light was failing i got a real sharp knock and was delighted to land a lovely wee bass of 1 1/2lbs the first i have ever caught so i was dead chuffed as you can imagine. :D :D (why is it you don't have a camera when you catch something decent) :x .anyway released the bass and didn't care much if i caught for the rest of the session.i'd been hoping for a bass up this way for years but no luck until last night.
The next cast produced a nice seatrout of 2lbs or so.and as the tide rose and the wind picked up the coalies came on as usual, no great size though only about 1/2lb. managed one more flounder to end the night.
amazing how the fishing can pick up in a week or two,It bodes well for the rest of the year.

Well done on the Seatrout was it in good nick or on the thin side, also congrats on the Bass, think this calm warmer weather has helped the fishing up there was out last month and hadnt a thing up there what a change.

Petekd I was fishing directly below the track on to the beach,I had intended to fish on right hand side by the stream but there were a couple of young lads messing about on a scrambler over there.it worked out wll though i'm dead chuffed with the wee bass :o :D
you should give another go allright MC that spell of good weather seems to have worked wonders for the fishing.
Marrco7 the seatrout wasn't long but well fleshed out.I had one off Tullagh about 6 weeks ago that would have been 4lbs in good condition but it weighed just over 1 1/2lbs it was so thin.
