Fantastic day so headed south in the search for a bass. Conditions werent ideal but i was still hopeful of picking one up. Arrived at the beach and the water was very calm no bites to start and then we started to pick up dog after dog, every cast and they eat everything i tried every bait to see would they leave something alone. Also picked up a dog with GENITALS like a male ray.. Was this a doggie ive never seen this on any doggie before perhaps someone knows what it was all about??? great day and good to get out even if the bass didnt show!!!

Strange you never mentioned the comp that was on there, very surprised you had room to fish there at 8pm,perhaps you had the wrong venue.

How's it goin KK, I'd say that was Ballyconnigar or Ballynamona you fished, to the South of Kilmuckridge and North of Blackwater, I was last to lug my gear over the sand dune on Saturday night after the comp, and the beach was totally deserted (about quarter to nine).
The fishing was very poor at Ballinoulart too, no dogs caught (daylight comp 3 - 8), few smoothies to 39cm, flounder and I had a codling @ 29cm which put me in 5th in my zone and won me a few quid  Fintan from SAI SAC had a very good day having 3 fish in Zone B which also gave him a 5th place in his zone and he also tied for longest flat 28cm, Securicor had to escort him home with all the envelopes. JP (Rampent Wreckfish) was also in my Zone A, and he would have faired decently with one flounder for 20 odd cm, probably a cm or two out of the prizes., but decent leinster league points picked up none the less!!! Mick Keogh (Mick The Painter) was also in zone A, and is probably the unluckiest angler in Ireland as he had 5 fish all 19cm, if he had 5 @ 20cm he would have certainly won the zone and gone very close to winning the Saturday comp overall. Seaniebo also picked up a 5th place in his zone at the friday night session of the two day event, and also picked up a few quid for himself. A solid performance by all SAI SAC memebers!!
Surprisingly enough the comp was won by Noel Fogarty who could probably winkle a fish out of a dry toilet bowl, very well ran by Martin Howlin and all of the Wexford SAC members, thanks lads!!
