I have one. I got it when I bought my first rod last year. They are a very basic reel, 3 bearings and only one spool. It will winch a large doggy in for you but you will find it tough going but saying that it has never let me down and will take its knocks and still work. One thing to be wary of is that the bail arm has a tendency to come over when casting so use a long leader but once you get the knack of it you should have no problems.
Hope this was helpful,
Derek

The question from Croppy was for an honest review from people who have used okuma reels, and the result was you get what you pay for,to dismiss them as rubbish (be it true or not) without any reason is not helpful.
As i have stated i have used both Okuma and Daiwa reels (entry and more expensive models) and have found the Okuma out lasted the Daiwa reels(a handle snapped off when reeling in a small doggie on a Daiwa emcast  ).Not taking away from Daiwa who produce good product that is normally reliable, this happens to be my opinon(and experience).
Also croppy was looking for a cheap reel in a hurry and i think that the okuma brand might be better then some cheaper reels that won't last a session let alone a season, and maybe for someone starting out who might not want to spend big money on gear only to find they don't like fishing or a certain type of fishing(spinning etc.).

Have had an impact 65 for almost two years with no problems - have reeled in just about all my diff species on it not a bother - passed it onto a mate of mine whos just getting started in fishing and he is using it still with no hassle
Cheap as chips - does its job and great for a backup in case anything goes west with ur "good" reel :? :?
What more do you want from a €27 reel :D :D :D
As G.wyse says - dont knock it till u've tried it......
john.
