Duration: I started about 16.30 - Neilus about 19.30 - finished up 23.30
Tide: high at 18.20
Weather: warm, bright and virtually no wind - a bit developed from the NE cutting across us right to left - but very comfortable - bit colder with darkness and wind picked up a bit more
Bait: mack, squid, mussel, sandeel and a little lug - all frozen -
Rigs: 3 & 2 hook flappers, pulley (Neilus?)
Results: Nothing bar one swimmer crab and a doggie - on the shore
Catch and Release:: Yes
Report: cracking day - high tide, full moon - wind inland where i started out - like that bloody amstel ad "this is going to be great!"
im a firm believer, no matter how many times im told - that theres no fish in the most eastern and southern parts of galway bay - there must be fish there - ill keep trying!
the omens were against me as i wanted to get down for round 3.45 - but got snookered at roadworks in clarinbridge - so didnt get there until 4.30
when i got there no wind - sea was dead calm - wasnt too happy with this - banged it out on two rods - second round of casting - forgot to lock the link on one - and dropped a trace on the retrieve
at this point i was questioning my madness as you do - but hell it was a beautiful evening - so carried on
a pair of missed bites and neilus arrived - good chat and completely forgot bout the lack of fish
before we knew it was 11.30 - a few more "bites" - the crab marks were noted - the dogs we thought might be there never materialised
there just has to be fish there - lug beds about 150 yards out - rocks right and left - ill try it again when its a bit more choppy
yea one of the many walkers dogs connected with a trace off neilus' tripod - he was unhooked and released
no fish but good to put a face to a name
