Booby beads

#1 Post by Donagh »

Has anyone any opinions on where to put booby beads on a flounder rig?
How many do you use?

I don't put them on the snood as I have floating beads and cork to avoid crabs and I think they would counteract them so I put them on the mainline. I had them near the my lead the last day but I think the just ended up in the mud but I think they might rattle more at the at the top of the rig. Interestingly fishing yesterday with booby beads another angler crossed my line and in the untangling my rig was rightly rattled. Immediately after I had a flounder take.

One other question does any one know where the small bells in THAT rig in sea angler November can be sourced in Ireland.

Crimp them about half way up the snood, add a few floating beads near the hook and it should be balanced properly. They are also great for using on plaice traces off the boats
