Seen this in a shop at the weekend. Anyone know much about them.

I think they are trying to compete with the like of greys, AA, Conoflex.

Hey Mate,

I've seen a few of the I.G. Rods in action, lovely finish on them and seem like an absolutely quality range. Bit pricey for me at the minute though.

There's no doubt they're going to be up there with the top names as Golds is already a well established and repected brand.

The rod you mention is a true classic styled fishing rod, with great bite detection. I was there and seen it cast 250yds plus over grass.

Unlike Greys and AFAW these rods are not out of China, they come from the best factory in Korea, this factory also produces for Daiwa and some of the top names in the world....hence the price...you only get what you pay for...These rods are made from high modulus carbon, all with the best Fuji fittings.

There will be more rods added to this range shortly....btw....one of the 4m 3 piece rods was out on test over here yesterday....the angler who used it is a member of this forum, perhaps he may chip in and tell everyone what he thinks of it.....

Check them out here.... http://www.iangoldstackle.com

Ian Golds will also have a range of Zziplex rods out soon, designed especially for him by Terry Carrol. I have a prototype 2 piece 16ft fixed spool rod here at the minute....WOW! is an understatment 8)

I noticed that the blank was alot longer than any other rod. I think this might be my new summer bonus present.
I would love a chuck with one.

for all those interested in having a cheeky peek at it. Its in Mckee's new shop in Bangor.

Ian Golds rods

I was testing a new rod for Ian Golds on sat a 4m rod, the bite detection on this rod is just amazing i have never seen anything like it before from small flats and whiting to doggies its just unreal. i thought it would only handle light leads, so for the hell of it i tried a 6oz with a clipped rig no problem in fact it took me by surprise it went out a good distance. This is the rod i have been looking for a long time in fact i think i would get rid of the lot of my rods and fish with this. This rod will bring the fun back into your fishing its just brilliant. Dogfish at distance you normanlly just get a pull and a nod on your rod, but this rod "man" you should see the bite detection you just have to pick the rod up and strike. The finish is the best i have ever seen on any rod maroon red with Fuji fittings its not only great to use but a hansom b*****d too it will stand out from the rest. Have no doubt this is going to be a real winner from Ian Golds.
Kstaff has always been the new black in my eyes anyway!!!!!!!

Mark,

The rod Paul tested was the FX-4 it really does look good and obviously performs as good too.....now that the summer is almost here perhaps I will be able to take one for a chuck and see for myself 8)
