Seatrout at Silverstrand, Galway 1 April 07
People:myself and fishingmidget
Duration:3 - 9pm
Tide:5:45 high
Weather:sunny with breeze from the north
Bait:mackerel and lug
Rigs:various
Results:2 flounder and one seatrout :D
Catch and Release:: Yes
Report:went fishing the back strand at silverstrand while the tide was coming in midget managed to scratch a flounder from there, and then we moved up onto the cliff for an hour and half during high tide :shock: :shock: .. during this time midget had a nice big bite and asd he reeled it in we could see that it was a seatrout.. but alas it managed to free its self from the hook...(what happened next was hillarious), not only did midget lose a seatrout, but he lost the plot... needless to say i was in stitches laughing..i baited up a 3 hook flapper and cast it out with my uptider just onto a line of weed which runs beside the sand... about 3 minutes later my rod was hopping... :) :) reeled in and guess what... a nice 31cm seatrout..
(midget lost it again :lol: :lol: ) aquired photo and ran back down the hill to the water and watched a nice little seatrout swim away :) ..
as the tide was ebbing we moved back to our first mark and waited.. spotted a seal in the middle of the channel so we knew it would be quiet... i managed to catch a crab :cry: .. and yet again midget pulled out a nice little flounder..
had a good day's fishing.. quite enjoyable...
