hi,
i'm heading over to lahinch for easter and given the lack of reports from that neck of the woods ...was wondering if anyone could advise on some decent shore marks for this time of year. Most easters I manage to pick up a few bass and flounder arouns lahinch beach / cregg, with trips to doolin and fanore often producing the odd schoolie... but its damn hard work.
I've got 6 days of fishing time and really want to make the most of it, would be great to get a plaice, and would really like to target rays if thats an option without heading down to the estuary.
If anyone has fished the ballyreen beach / spit (just before ballyvaughan) and has some advice to get beyond catching crabs there (the sea faring ones) it would be much appreciated..i've had sea trout swim between my legs on this mark but never landed more than a small flounder..it looks like a great spot but i struggle there no matter what i try!
So, looking for some advice on good shore marks with an hours drive of lahinch and any other tips re bait, tides or rigs you may have to offer.
cheers
dave

last time i was fishing in fanore - it was a blank at the start of feb
on another note - that mark on the spit at ballyvaughan is the rynn or rhine
ballyreen itself is further south of fanore
check out north clare on this http://www.cfb.ie/fishing_in_ireland/sea/maps.htm
have you read kierans blog about lahinch for a few pointers - and the usual a few searches on old reports
sorry thats about the only help i can give you :?
