Fished 1 mile east of cappa pier (clare shoreline)from rocky point on to rough ground looking for a big huss. Fished from 10am till 6pm. High water 6pm. Baits used were mackerel, squid and sandeel.
Caught 6 huss, but biggest was only 4 pounds. Caught 3 strap conger to 7 pounds, great fun on light bass rods.Lost a bigger toothier bugger on th rocks.
Dave_B and the brother were vying for the "who lost most rigs" title. Dave_B comfortably won the "most bacon sarnies cooked/eaten" title.
The brother won the "crappest knot tied" title.
Nice day out in sunny weather. There were a number of anglers on cappa pier which put us off fishing later into dark. Its small and gets crowded. Id love know how they did
