Booms - the long ones

These were rigid plastic ones (red in colour if i remember) and around 7 or 8 inches. Does anybody know where i might pick some of these up? Ta for any info.

Sea Species(25) bass, codling, whiting, turbot, seatrout, stingray, pollock, coalfish, longspine scorpion, ballan wrasse, dogfish, ling, pouting, poor cod, dab, mackerel, smelt, sandeel, launce, bull huss, painted ray, thick lip mullet, golden grey mullet, rock goby.
Fresh Water (2) brown trout, sea trout

Are they tubey booms or the stand of ones ?

i thought i seen these in cork angling pete , not sure though tbh i was dizzy wen i was in there :shock: :lol:

are they whisker booms?? need to be placed on rig with a knot?

Pete, I've got some, bought them in Holland. I'll take a pic and post it so you can see if they are the right ones. If they are I'll have my parents bring some over in two weeks.

Yeah Mark thats them...the whisker booms

need to get some myself. no prob on the continent- may go abroad over the summer.... to get some booms of course!! here if u find a place that stocks em let me know?!!! pretty please!

Did a google on whisher booms found http://www.anglingcentre.net plenty of pics of booms.

I think they have really long booms in Landers in Tralee they would be about the length you are talking about. but I think these are black.

they're for the boat. the shore ones are just lenghts of plastist that are melted at one end to form a blob. the blob keeps the boom from slipping through the knot. Julian Shambrook (in Sea-angler)showed a way to make em b4 out of the bristles from the head of a broom. don't know how long they are though!?


wudn't mind some for 1 of my flattie rigs. wire booms pin the baits...

Pete, are you up in Donegal this Sat. if so I'll bring those booms with me and you can have a look at them yourself. They come in two different sizes, small ones for shore and the longer ones for boat. I was talking to the lads in the shop in Holland and they have loads in stock.
