baitrunner reels for saltwater.

#1 Post by pookie5488 »

I know been asked from time to time.

But was wondering does anyone use one as main reel (not spinning) and if so what size model.

just read a artical were people have been and distance has not been lost but they enjoy the running part of reel.

I've never used one for distance casting. I use a Shimano Baitrunner 5000 size for light ledgering and float fishing with 1 or 2 oz weights. Probably doesn't answer your question ...

only problem is u have to wash it with fresh water after each trip and service it regularly as it is a fresh water reel.

Shimano biomaster 1200 ldc, really tough reel , superb for
beachfishing or rough -ground, best baitrunner by far.
