Report:Went out strictly for a monster,usin full squid on a pennel and sandeel on the other pennel, i wasnt gonna settle for less :shock: ...i was getting loads of small bites from smaller fish but i refused to drop hooks sizes or scale down my rigs...as a result i didnt catch a thing...i only stayed an hour cause the weed was getting really heavy so i split...i did spot a dead fish washed up on the shore, i cant identify it..firstly i thought it was a gilthead but i dunno..what do u think it is?

its def a lumpsucker,they move further inshore at this time of year to spawn.i think they build nests just below the low tide mark.i saw one while i norway,it was just swimming around between the boulders of the breakwater,but it was only a small one of around 4-5lb,i think the british record is just over 20lb :shock: .they are a similar shape to wrasse,i wonder do they fight the same? 20lb! wrasse now that would be fun :wink: :)

thats a deffo lumpsucker i have only ever seen one caught off the shore and that was at browns bay 2 years ago....u never forget seen one of them being dragged out it was around the 2lb mark if i remember

nice fishing!
Just wondering is anything being caught around the Guillamines there (forgive the spelling) or is this spot a summer macky bashing place only?Just curious, as to what ground is there,is it sandy or rocky, or any information about it would be great.
