Fishing trip south

#1 Post by ts1500 »

ive managed to convince the girlfriend to go on a trip south instead of somewhere hot this summer( a covert fishing holiday) hopefully around clare, kerry, cork and maybe stop off at waterford on way home!
im planning to camp(if weather permits and b&b if it doesnt.

does anyone recommend any essential stops, i mainly SW Fly fish, or use lures ? looking for large pollack and also the chance of a bass!
thnks

to be honest i think the 'romantic' idea of camping will wear off on the first trip out this year!
i dont mind it for a day or two, but the GF thinks it would be nice for the hol, little does she know!

did you fish anywhere special that you would recommend

Theres some excellent spots in waterford were you can get bass on lures and fly, and sea trout in a couple of places so it would be well worth your while stopping off coming back from cork.

I done galway and donegal last year. never made it further south.

NB. Camping is not for tall people. tents are pure hatred. I have never cursed so much in my life.

Good luck.

i should have no issues with the height issue, im only a whopping 5'8!!
and waterford will hopefully turn into more of a decent stop than a stop passing!
thnks
