has anyone used a penn 245ld, seen them cheap online (70 euro) and just wondering if anyone has used them and what you think of them. what size are they (probably best to compare to the TLD range).
thanks

I have a 225ld paulo so I assume (assume!) the 245 is a larger model. Probably should check that out before I say anymore.
Anyhoo, I use the 225ld for heavy work, whenever I don't fancy using the Penn International 12LT. I've used in in Norway loaded up with 30lb braid pirking in over 600 feet of water, and on various wrecking trips. It's done the job nicely. I'd have full confidence in it for just about anything in these waters up to shark, conger and common skate. Blue Fin Tuna is where I'd think twice.
The 225 does everything I need it to, so I'd be asking myself if I really needed a 245?
Mind you, 70 yoyos is a very good price. Tempting, even. :D

Penn 245LD is a graphite lever drag multiplyer introduced by Penn in 2000 and discontinued in 2004. It weighs 20 ozs, gear ratio of 3.9:1 and having a line capacity of 475yds/30lb mono.Spares are available. If you require any more info re durability etc I can obtain that for you. Seems good value at 70 euro.
