I was in Ennis last week and seen a penn mag 525 and Viper Evo together for 400 Euro is this a good deal.

I had a look at the rod and seemed like a nice rod very firm at the tip yet would have good bite detection.

North East Tackle UK have an ad for the same combo in the December Sea Angler magazine. (pg 75) as do Gerry's of Morecambe (pg. 179) Whatever way they cut it (free reel/slashed prices) the asking price for the combo is 275 sterling in both cases which I think works out at roughly 400 Euros so you would be getting it at UK prices which are usually slightly better than here. I don't think you'd be getting ripped off, put it that way. Haven't priced this combo in Irish tackle dealers though.

There are some reasonable deals for penn 525 mags in Irish tackle shops at the moment. This is more than likely due to the super 525 mag coming out.
