Ennereilly, Wicklow 06-03-2007...... for a change

#1 Post by MAC »

People: Me and Al

Duration: about 4 hours 9pm onwards

Tide: Never know with this area

Weather: You could see the stars and a slight South Westerly

Bait: Mainly Lug, also Mussle and Mack

Rigs: 2 and 3 hook flappers

Results: Loads of Whiting and a few small Codling. Al had a 29cm flounder

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report:

Went off in search of a few of the bigger codling that seem to be hanging around over the last few weeks. Fishing got off to a flyer with small whiting and codling right from the start. All fish were got in Close (20 yards MAX)

As the bites dried up I decided to put 2 clipped mack out about 100 yards. Managed a 30cm whiting and my first doggie of the year, which is what I was hoping for... I know wierd hoping for a doggie, but nice to get the first one..... hopefully that will be my lot for the year, but somehow I doubt it. :roll: Nice aul evening, but work was hard after only 4 hours sleep.

Funny thing that...... I was getting whiting after whiting and I decided, feck it, lets put a bit of Mack out for a doggie. It's wierd trying for doggies like that. The first one is always great as your fishing for mini's (unless you live in Cork) all winter and it's just nice to have a decent bend in the rod. Even if it feels like weed :lol:

Good session all the same. That will be my lot until the 24th..... that's if I can get away from the nappies.
