Kerry...???

#1 Post by Eoghan »

Hows it going all. Hibernation is over and its that time of year again..! :-)

Can anyone tell me how Dingle is fishing or Kerry in general. Will be heading down in April for a long weekend of bass fishing.

I dont need marks or hot spots just an overview of how the season has started. You can PM if you dont want to put information on the board.

Tnks in advance

Poor enough Eoghan the few times I have got out.Bass are scarce enough around and only a few flounder showing.
Even Bob Moss is struggling to catch at the moment.
It is a shame because conditions on the storm beaches look ideal with very little weed around.

Hi Eoghan. Assume you're heading down to your usual haunts?

If so the bass fishing only tends to pick up here around the time of the April spring tides. Looked back at my catch notes and had nothing much to show for March, but there was a drastic improvment from mid april on, the later in the month the better.

Just a general guide based on my notes, I'm sure others might have a different experience. Hoping to get down there in April myself, haven't been since December and am suffering withdrawal symptoms!

Tnks Guys. Yeah Steve the usual spots. I have a good idea how they fish in April. Just wanted an idea if it was a slow season which it sounds like. Usually fish that spot in the morning and then move to a spot near brandon for the evening tide. I think I told you about it before.
I do well this time of year by using a popper and work it very slowly over gullys in spot number 1. Spot two does well on the rising evening tide so should still produce Bass. Some warm weather eouldnt go a miss.

I will be down the weekend of the 20th April. Renting a house as usual so if there are spare places I will post it up. Wont even charge for my gilly services..! :-)

But if anyone from the board from kerry is around let me know, would be good to meet up. We'll be down from Thursday 19th until Monday 23rd April.
