if u tighten the '8' shape of the knot as close as possible to the link or rig swivel and then pull the rig body to tighten fully and lock the knot. this causes the least possible line friction and helps make a nice neat rig! enjoy!

as with most other heavy mono knots you are best using a lead with a reversed breakaway link on it to aid tightening. u can use a pliers but it can damage components or slip. a hook beaked pliers is best.

Good job on the pictures Mark....if the knot is tied right, the tag end will sit tight up against the main line.

That knot is ideal for wire, even heavy wire and very thick mono..like say 300lb plus....I have never had one let me down yet.

Not to miss the point of this thread though....I once tied it with 15lb Ultima F1 and the bugger just would not tie without slipping..since then I tried it on black amnesia and other polished mono's without any problem at all.

btw...everyone who I ever showed that knot to, now uses it all the time, I've not come across a better knot for tying hooks, swivels, lures, fly's in fact any mono to metal I can think of.

If the knot has a name I dont know it...after tonight it cant be called the "secret knot"   can it Mark 8)
