Shipping Rod

Does anyone know a cheap way to ship a rod from UK to Ireland. ????????????

well air mail is the traditional way but by the boat is reasonably cheaper, especially from asia or america...but it will take ages and ages..mayb 8 weeks!!!

Like Mr_Green said, from usa boat is way cheaper (and way longer) but I don't know if this is an option available from the UK.
I had a rod delivered here from the UK for £18, that seemed to be the on the cheaper side than most, it arrived the next day too!
Also shipping is often cheaper to N. Ireland, so if you know somebody up there mabye get it sent there then collect next time you meet?

Hi Col, just a thought right but in the past I've found Gerrys to be fairly reasonable on rods, why not give em a call and ask them?? Cant hurt.
Fluff chucking is the new black..... Rampant Wreckfish is a fly angler in denial :D

colin i have talked to a few guys in england they recdommend anc or a company www.easypostuk.com think they also work through anc ,parcel such as a rod 14-20 pounds.

Hi, I'm expecting 2 rods from the UK today via DHL.

DHL charge 20 GBP per parcel to IE.

I'm getting two 2 peice 12 foot rods & 2 reels & they are shipping that as two parcels so 40 quid for the lot.

Think they were shipped Wednesday.

It was delivered by ParcelForce and measured 66inchs, have heard good and bad reports about parcelforce but my experience with them was certainly good.

have used parcel force myself a few times and had no problem with them at all,right enough it was a while ago now .

the rod I want to ship has a 8ft tip and parcelforce say its to long for them to carry ????????????
