Spinning/Plugging in the dungarvan area

#1 Post by dukelow »

Can anyone tell me a good spot for spinning and plugging near Dungarvan? I am based in Clonmel so Dungarvan is the nearest point of contact with the sea but I am willing to go north or south of it to find the right spot. Ideally I want to target bass but a bit of Polack bashing would be fine. Can anyone suggest a handy spot that is nearish to the road. I don’t really want to go wading either so I suppose it would be off the rocks or pier weather and swell permitting of course. I have done a bit of beachcasting from Tramore, Bunmahon, Helvic etc but I just want to get in a few hours on Sunday with a friend without the hassle of baits.

Calaso Bay, Ferrypoint and Ballymacart are all good for spinning but I have not tried them at this time of the year.
