stuck between a penn surfmaster fs and a penn mag 525.never used either and do all my fishing with fixed spool reels.is it really worth going for the mag 525?.any feedback on either reel much appreciated
525 is a lovely reel and not difficult to cast. The trick is not to overload it with line. Leave about 1/4 of an inch on the spool and you should find casting handy.
Mag breaks mean you can instantly change the speed of the reel. The 525 mag is being upgraded to the super 525 mag so it has more mags and is pretuned so it runs slower out of the box as there were complaints it was running to fast.
