People:me, nige, Papa Smirff

Duration:er..dunno..6-7hrs(3ish - 9ish i think)

Tide:rising-high-falling

Weather:clear and sunny

Bait:mackerel and squid

Rigs:various

Results:
me: 9 doggies, 1 coalfish
nige: 5 doggies 2 starfish
Papa Smirff, 3 doggies and 2 crabs  (and a mackerel to the back of the head      )

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report:Funniest days fishing i have ever had, i'll let nige mention Papa Smirff and the rod incident   ..

but i will mention Papa Smirff and the mackerel head incident...
from my point of view... i hear sound of something soft hitting something hard.. i turn around to see Papa Smirff rubbing the back of his head... i look down to see a mackerel head rolling on the ground... looking further around i see nige flat on his back in stitches laughing so hard even that alone was funny... scenario was.. nige unhooked a mackerel head that had been used for conger, threw in towards the water just as Papa Smirff took two steps backwards who then receives i nice welcomed smack on the back of his head by a soggy wet mackerel head... at this point nige had collapsed in a fit of laughter, i see what has happened and find it impossible to refrain from laughing...

p.s. as we were driving back i noticed the moon was going through a lunar eclipse... not as Papa Smirff said.."that's just clouds"..

also on the way back... we had to pull in so that no accident would happen as Papa Smirff put a jumper on...over the seatbelt

i'm still giggling away with what happened.... 'funniest fishing trip ever'

nige.. if i have forgotten anything you can fill them in with the details :D

I dont think I ever laughed as much. As for my poor rod - pappa smirff was using his new rod and reel which i knew was a bad idea. Told him a few times to be carefull casting nxt thing he casts and manages to hit my bottom eye with his lead end result need a new eye.

Hi. I have to agree I have not laughed so much in a long time. However not all was due to myself. the pair of cretins I was with, coupled with a long rod and a verticaly chalanged person added to the humer.
Nigel also managed to hit his stand+. And as for the the other fella.
To Know him says it all.

It's trips like these that make fishing worthwhile. 8) A real gut buster of laughter with a few mates. Couldn't beat it with a big stick. Cracking report lads

I could picture it all. I'm still in tears thinking about it.

The "Jumper over Seat-Belt" was an extra safety precaution. Nige WAS driving you know. (At least he put his glasses on this time!!!)

i just remembered the incident at the petrol station in clifden on the way home...

pulled up by the pumps.. the two lads jumped out to get food and tea/coffee..
nige came back first and papa smirff was taking his time.. so we drove around the side of the shop and waited..

along walks papa smirff into the middle of the forecourt and realises we have moved... the look on his face was priceless...

wont mention the tea stain

or where the road map went to
