reflective tape warning

i put reflective tape on on the tip of my rod about 2 ago and took it off recently and found that what ever was in the adhesive of the tape had eating trough the varnish on the rod tip exposing the whipping on the rod tip

what sort of varnish do i need to get to fix this ?

i think it was this stuff i got 2 year ago so i could be wrong

im not sure what epoxy is
but the layer varnish is gone leaveing the tread exposed

i just went out to the shed to get the rod and have a look at it again and it had fallen off the shelf she is snapped clean in half fecking skill saw landed on it :oops: :oops: :oops: :oops: :( :( :( :(

rod varnish

Clear nail varnish is good for covering the whipping
