Nick,

Have usedf one of these before. If it's a little 3 LED jobby with a clip on it then forget it. The actual beam of light isn't strong enough and needs to be further away and at right angles to the tip, shining the light upwards parallel along the rod from the tripod is not very effective I've found especially with something this weak

i'm just after making something similar using 3 leds, but its run by a small 12v battery.. just need to attach a switch to it and seal it up, but i reckon this will be strong enough for the job :lol:

Thanks Liam for the tip off. I do feel its a starter but will probably try and put something much like you are doing Steve.
