Strike or not to strike....

Hi Guys,just a quick question,
the last day out i seemed to be getting a few slack line bites

,is there any rules on how to deal with such bites(reel quick and strike or just strike).
Everybody seems to have their own ideas on when to hit a bite.

....Personally i like to let a bite develop and then strike while others like to strike quickly...or does this depend on what you suspect has taken the bait.

wind down into a slack liner and on feeling the wait of the fish raise the rod whilst still reeling.

if the fish has the bait in its mouth and goes off,its hooked and goin no where...strike to soon and u may lose ur potential personal best?!?

lost a few fish to slack line last week buy stiking and changed to wind and slow extra pressure once in contact, sometimes if it is happening regularly i down size a hook size or two. with gripper weights most fish that slack line you are hooked already and striking can be a bad move

Have to agree with Mark, wind hard and lift. The fact that the line has slackened means that the fish has caused the weight to move a fair distance so it is usually hooked or has dropped it.
