People:dave,smithy and myself

Duration:12.30pm - 4pm

Tide:incoming

Weather:clear, very windy

Bait:squid, mackerel, sandeel, razor

Rigs:tried everything!

Results:zilch! :evil:

Catch and Release:: Yes



Report:very windy conditions, not even a decent bite! was good to get out for an hour or two thats about it! was glad to get home and warm in the end

Did you lose much gear on the North beach?,was there myself last Friday and it was very snaggy.Strange you didn't get anything from the pier,theres always something knocking about,ah well, better luck next time.
A bad day fishing is better than a good day at the office!

strange beach the north beach is ,, i never do well of it but see pleanty of fish taken of it

Prefer the South beach myself but that with all the construction work around the stream it's turned into a real tackle graveyard,before the stream in front of the driving range seems to be clean though.
Had some nice flounder on the north beach though.
A bad day fishing is better than a good day at the office!

Greystones fishes best at night, never had a bite there during the day, but then again I wasn't fishing with scratching rigs the last time so that might be worth a go there during the day.
2008 Species: Flounder, whiting, coal fish, Dogfish, rockling, dab.

Found it snaggy enough alright, hav fished the pier at night in summer, last time caught 11 doggies, better then a blank like i had on sunday but got a bit sick of them after the 4/5th one haha...have heard all all these decent codling and flatties being caught out ther... never got anything worth talkin about meself ther

I usually fish the North beach just left of the harbour it usually throws up a few nice flats(Dabs and flounder) nothing huge but not too bad either :) Definatly after dark...i haven't found it snaggy there either but i think the further up the beach you go it starts to become snaggy! Used to catch decent coalfish here too up at the tunnel, but last time i fished there it was just small whiting! Oh yeah and as you said plagued with dogs in the summer!
