Garinish Strand - Beara Penninsula

#1 Post by pete »

People:Me

Duration: 4pm to 8pm

Tide:Flooding

Weather:Force 4 - 6 westerly, frequent showers

Bait:Razor/Mackerel

Rigs:3 hook scratch flap, 1 hook clipped

Results: 1 26cm coalie

Catch and Release:: Yes/No

Report:Took a drive down the Beara pen and eventually ended up at the little beach of Garinish. Looked absolutely perfect in the afternoon sunshine, not too big and a lovely surf rolling up onto her. Parked the car at on the road above it and put two rigs out, flapper in close and two razors lashed together on the clipped rig and put beyond the last breaker.

Sat hoping a bass or flattie would have been attracted but three hours later I was still hoping. Eventually a tiny coalfish took frozen blk lug/mac cocktail and at least staved of the blank. Disappointed but the place is bound to produce bass in the summer, looked very fishy.
