braided line

i am looking for some advice on using braided line for spinning, i currently find that the line gets tangled and no the reel is not overloaded!! i think possibly the line was cheap and maybe inferior quality or maybe it just isnt as forgiving as mono when trying to put a spinner over, say, 40 yards. any recommendations on good braid??

i find spiderwire a good braid..have no faults with it barr the actual line fading after a few sessions... i would only use braid when spinnin cause it helps keep in contact with the lure due do it not having any give.. i think it definatly has advantages over spinnin with mono

I'm a beginner but here goes my limited experience. Huge tangles with mono first time. Second time changed to braided Power Pro and not one tangle! It feels much smoother when reeling in, has no memory and could draw a map of the bottom from the sensitivity!!

i use fireline....it is a nice and stiff braid that rareley tangles.

The consensus seems to be that PowerPro is a good line. You can pick up 300yds for under 30 yoyos on ebay.

As regards tangles, a good reel pays for itself. I'd recommend the Shimano Stradic. The line-lay of the reel is key to ensuring the braid comes off the top of the spool evenly. (Shimano call it Aero Wrap).

I've been using brain on my Stradic for about 5 years now and never had a tangle (that wasn't my own fault).

one word SWIVEL comes to mind buy some good swivels the ones with ball bearings they are not cheap but should fix the problem also using a slightly heavier braid may do the trick sometimes i use two swivels one from braid to leader and one from leader to lure

i would use power pro, i have it on all my spinning and float fishing reels. dont tangle often if ever with it.

a couple of swivels will stop line twist as roger said, i use one clip swivel and then another one two feet up the line, but i dont think that was necessarily what was causing your problems.

power pro and any decent spinning reel with good line lay should see you sorted, but stay in control of the line and if the wind is facing you be careful you dont reel in any slack loops or wind knots

some spinners are worse than other for line twist another tip is after every session remove everything from the main line pull all the line out along the beach or in a feild and retreive the line back slowly keeping tensoin with your fingers any twist should come out as u retreive (this is done by big game anglers when trolling lures only they do it on the way back to port and just let out the line as the boat steaming along )fist time i used braid i couldnt fish more than two casts without getting a wind knot and found the 20 and 30 lb easier to handle what breaking strain are u using?
