wangled myself a day off work, woke up and looked out the window to see blue skies so went and grabbed a bag of raggies en route to glenarm. started fishing from about 10am til 3.
after about 20 mins of nothing i pulled in a smallish doggie, followed by another one, except this time a bit bigger 5 mins later.
Then it went cold for a couple hours before i hooked a couple of small collies.
Is it usual to catch doggies durin the day? i thought they were a nite creature?

You can catch doggies during the day no problem but you should catch more after dark there most active in calmer seas :D

Hazzman I fished the Breakwater (4 hour session) during daylight last September using various rigs and bait and didn't get a single bite - couldn't believe it. Certainly appears that the Breakwater is a night time venue when the dogs snaffle almost everything - see my latest report.
I have only fished the beach once during the day and again without success but night time on a rising tide seems to do the business but tends to be alot of small stuff except for the dogs.
