Report hi all, First post and nothing to report. Heard this beach tends to throw up a few codling late winter, but not today. one of the few deep shelving beaches in the area, fished two rods one in ,one out tried all baits and cocktails nothing, water coloured looked good. Wind may have been a factor, south easterly.ah well!!!!!! Great site congrats to all.

welcome to the site liam
i must say ballyquin is one of my least favourite places to fish on the whole peninsula, rarely have i seen anyone catch much off it except on the very very odd ocassion.
there are better spots around i feel, do you fish ballyquin much?

Hi Liam,
Tried the beach a few times last winter and didn't have much success. The pier at Brandon (facing the beach form the other side of the bay) however was throwing up lots of codling to 3lbs last winter. Word on the ground was that even the pier didn't fish particularly well this winter so no purprises that Ballyquin itslef was poor
