Okuma Reels
Hey just saw a new reel from Okuma called the Magnetix, was just wondering if anyone knows anything about them i.e are they a heap of c**p or not :) They are not that expensive, around 60pound was just wondering if there is a reason they are that cheap!

I have a couple of Okuma FS reels (Inspira), and a couple of boat multipliers (Titus 10L & Titus Gold 15L). My favorite reel is my Okuma Titus Gold. The top-end Okuma reels are the equal of anything and much better value too. The Magnetix looks good - if I was in the market for a casting multiplier, I would go for one.

Just had a quick browse and it seems like they are getting some good reviews..... the general consensus is that the have fallen into the Gap that the Penn 515 missed. Seems like about 200 yards of 15lb line which is nice.
Out of stock in Veals at the moment.... Just waiting on a phone call from Henrys. He will let me know when he will have them in stock. He has to double check, but he expects them to be about €95. I will post here as soon as I have any info.

Have been browsing a few UK forums. I few of the lads there have been testing them. Seems like they are not an out and out casting reel, due to the line capacity, but a good allround reel. The one major complaint seem to be that there is a very slight clicking noise on the retrievel due to 2 anti reverse mechenisms. Apparently if it really bothers you you can sort it quickly. Seems similar to the Penn 525, but a wee bit smaller in line capacity. Seems like they'll fit the bill for quite a few people and they are a cracking price. I've one on order, and will let you guys know what I think as soon as I have mine.
