12/02/07 carnlough south beach

People:merv147 and me

Duration:7pm to 10.30pm

Tide:5 hours

Weather:dry started to rain ,wind picking up

Bait:blacklog,ragworm and squid

Rigs:3 hook ,2 hook booms

Results:collie 24cm,codling ,3 Bearded rocking and 5 bearded rocking

Catch and Release:: Yes/



Report:was going to fish with carrick cub but they move furher now the beach so me and merv just on our own.
both of us as never fished the south beach before so gave it ago .
the tide was falling so just cast off the carpark and later the beach i caught one codling merv caught the rest i throught i was going to blanked :( happy am i didnt. :)
i think we did well fishing there even know the tide was going out something to fish next time . :)
i was using 2 hook boom with size 4 to see if i catch anything i just got bites so i chance hooks to a size 1 with blacklug and rag and caught the codling .
towards the end packing up my car had a flat battery :oops: so went across the road to get a jump started no problem the car started with 15 mins and on my way home. :)
o yes on the way to carnlough took a short from larne when a car hit my wing mirrior he didnt stoped :twisted: so i turn the car around and went after him lucky for the guy in the car :twisted: i lost him in the counrtyside and larnes not worry he was in the wrong he drove off cause he knew he was in the wrong :twisted: .
as anyone had any problems with other drivers when your coming or going to a places to fish :?:

good job we didn't catch him he would have needed an Ambulance i hate people like that i know if it was Liam he would have stopped. anyways it was a good night we have to remember to get a box of chocolates for the people that gave us that jump start

not to worry got if fix today 25.00 for the wing mirror and free labour fitted by me so it was a free to fix :D :D :D :D .
i think i like that side of the beach fishs were small but there could be bigger fish out there :) :(

bigliam,

If you were to cast towards the water and not on the carpark you might have caught more. :roll: :shock: :wink:

not a bad session liam but why are you wasting time fishing the antrim coast when there is far better fishing to be had in co.down

bigliam, I hope you didn't take offence at the quote. I thought it quite funny although I did know what your intentions were in relation to the carpark.

so you must a got home alright after your car broke down bigliam i was near back in carrick when you phoned and didnt have jump leads you should a fished down beside us for a bit a craic :lol:
