Beara Peninsula, Cork, 7th - 9th February 2007

#1 Post by John D »

People: Me and Graham Murray

Duration: 3 days

Tide: High tides between 8 and 9 in the morning and at night

Weather: Gales and rain

Bait: crab, lug, razor, mackerel and sand-eel

Rigs: 1 hook rotten bottom, spinning & 2 hook paternoster

Results: A few wrasse up to almost 5lb, 2 decent mullet, 1 tiny 3 bearded rockling & 1 half decent coalfish (almost 1lb)

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report: Fishing wasn't great. Thought there might be a few bass about on some of the strands. Weather was brutal. Camping out was great crack. Didn't do as much fishing as we hoped to do though.

Yeah, camping in February. My girl friend got me a tent for Christmas.

I just had to try it out.
