Results:1 out of 11(hooked) mullet.

Catch and Release:: Yes



Report:well..i aint really that happy with the way today turned out, but i will get all 11 next time. the fish was about 3-4lb.

nice fishing, out of a matter of interest what flies did ya get them on, got a few bread crust imitations i'm gonna try friday if the weather is good.
shore species 2008(25):dogfish(3.1lbs), bull huss (12lb 2oz), bass, shore rockling, coalie, whiting, pollack, conger (22.4lbs),flounder, thick lipped mullet (4.8lbs),turbot,ling (11.2lbs),ballan wrasse(4.5lbs), cuckoo wrasse, pouting, poor cod, cod (9.5lbs), dab, 3 bearded rockling, long spined scorpion fish, corkwing wrasse, plaice, trigger fish, sea trout, garfish

I got it on a butcherd CDC mayfly. a friend has a couple of patterns with marabou in them that work. these are seaweed imatations. i also think a couple took the oakey dokey buzzer suspended a foot below them.

in certain places, yes. but u need to know what you are doing. also i prefer fly because they didnt seem too interested in the bread i was chucking out.

I`ll have to keep an eye out for them at our local hot spots but its usually June/July before they show up.Maybe the milder winter will bring them sooner

Well done Alex, surprised to see them so early. Noticed what I thought were mullet swirls in the estuary at Clonakilty two days ago but just thought it was impossibly early :idea:
Sea Species(25) bass, codling, whiting, turbot, seatrout, stingray, pollock, coalfish, longspine scorpion, ballan wrasse, dogfish, ling, pouting, poor cod, dab, mackerel, smelt, sandeel, launce, bull huss, painted ray, thick lip mullet, golden grey mullet, rock goby.
Fresh Water (2) brown trout, sea trout

nice fish alex. I would say it gave you a good scrap. good to see a couple of mullet for this time of year also.
