predictable fishing.

this sat. afternoon the 17th. theres a few of us fishin clonea

i,am gona get around 6 bass up to 5/6lb. the other lads ??
at a guess 12/15 bass between us

if this forecast is correct, then i,ll explane why the comp. in wex. on the 10/2 produced so few fish.

if it had been held this wk.end the 17 or 18 there would have been at least 5 times as much fish cought

inc. bass.
what i,am sayin is this. there are days in each month when very few if any fish can be cought, then theres golden days like this sat.17th. most of the fish will be got between4/6.30p.m. the hour from 5 till 6 is special and the biggest fish shoud be cought within this hour.
the south coast will fish very well this wk.end. next wk.end stay at home.

We have to schedule comps around opens and keep them reasonably spaced out...That said, plenty of cod were caught beside us by someone who targeted them. We did look at the state (neap-spring) when scheduling them. This weekend the angling show is on, we clashed with this last year, I think.

My idea of predictable fishing is any shore session with SeanP.I know I'll catch more fish than him.

Interesting stuff Art, i know tides and weather etc ( watercraft) are hugely important when choosing a venue and I'm sure unless a great deal is known about a mark most people would fish the coming tide for the best chance of catching. What in particular about last weekend slowed the fishing compared to this weekend? It's this stuff I don't pay enough attention to.

Alot of my fishing is done to suit times I'm free and not always the best conditions to fish in, ( explains my results I suppose).

If I send you my diary will you mark out the dates for the rest of the year?

I for 1 will be hughly interested in the outcome of the predictions of cortaz. If his predictions are correct, and I've no doubt they will from the postings that cortaz has posted before, then more power to him. I would love to be able to forecast/predict what sort of a days fishing I will have before I go to the expense of fuel and bait etc for a days fishing although I do maintain that I use the days fishing as a way of releasing the stresses of the week and any fish caught is a bonus.

moon set @ 17.36 all 3 in same hour+ its the day of the new moon
sun se t @ 17.45 it will be a very good day.
high water@ 17.30

sun transit 12.45
moon transit 12.47 from 11.30/13.30 also a good time to be fishin
low water 11.45

Art, that's a nice piece of work.

The peaks are interesting. At new moon you have a higher peak but for fewer days while at full moon you have a lower peak but for more days. Is that an anomoly or does the same pattern show up on your month-by-month data?
