hey mate....well the last couple of years straight mac and sandeel has accounted for the most of the fish which are doggies, conger, huss and a few thornies but last year there was cod so maybe a drop of lug could be handy...best rig i've found to be a single hook clipped to a 2 hook clipped....i think the venue is the beach beside the P&O terminal cant remember the name of the beach well i mean i can spell it but i think its LIFENAL beach....by any chance is this warren

depending on numbers and there usually are a lot who fish it they use three venues lefnol ,light house point and old house point.but depending on conditions they can move a venue to the other side of the lough to these venues.lefnol is mainly dogs ,three hook clipped rig with sandeels and mackerel.light house and old house points are much rougher ground so i would stick to one or two hooks clipped down or a pulley rig with various baits.keep the snoods about 30lb breaking strain as the ground can be sore on line and hooks.light house and old house points are far deeper marks and if you hook a good fish you may have trouble getting it in so i would go with a sl20 or something similar with 18-20 lb main line on it.cheers john
