Strangford Harbour 9/2/07

#1 Post by round_ourway »

People: Me, Lazycod, Pookie, Costa

Duration:18.00 - 21.00

Tide: ebbing, high tide at 15.21

Weather: Windy

Bait: Rag, Mackerel

Rigs: pulleys, 2 hook booms

Results: Codling, Rockling, Pollock

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report:

Arrived at strangford harbour around 18.00. It was very windy and all rods were held in hands. It was a very cold night with the wind blowing straight at us. We all caught fish which made a good productive night

I caught a couple of nice codling on straight rag. Lost a real cracker bringing it out of the water. guess at 2-3lb. Always next time

I was raging at the time :( . I was doing that much messing about trying not to drop it. It then dropped.
I was inspecting a couple of fish after i dropped that one and the hook wasnt even set. I was only using size 1/0. I upgraded to size 2/0 after that then landed the other two cod

Right.... I have a feeling if you hit Strangford with Lug/Crab you may have a field day! Were you lads fishing the Stantion Jetty?
