Could have been worse, I blanked but at least I came home with all my gear. There were two rods broken, both Diawa longbeams which are now being christened shortbeam. Congrats to the winners, for me it showed the gap between the guys who regularly fish matches and us pleasure anglers. I didn't think it was as rough as Ennereilly.

Yes, I thought the same.

For some reason I found Ennereilly easier fishing, plus there were more fish.

If I can just give a word of thanks to Keith (Kstaff), who watched me destroy my own rod and gave me a lend of his very pricey Century Tip Tornado Lite (Keith, I still can't figure out if you're incredibly brave, kind or nuts???).
BTW, all of my fish came on Keith's rod, a 23cm rockling and 2 * 19cm flounder & 1 * 18cm

I think he wondered it himself as he watched you retreive from the sea after it was washed out from one of them freeky waves.
