tramore, tope and ray !!

hi lads, got a call today to say that there is ray and tope on tramore beach in their nunbers !!!!!! ! is there any truth on this :?: cheers,

head that ray had been caught, but was told the source wasnt credible..dunno how true that is... havent heard a tap bout tope...

the lad who rang me said he was down the far end of tramore near saleens !! he says he fished for the guts of 9 hours and had eleven ray !! the biggest being a 9 pound painted !!!

do u know what bait (prob sandeel) and what time of the tide man? might b worth a spin out

there's a possibility of ray but as far as tope are concerned i seriously doubt it.. the water temp is too cold for them...

hi lads there was a few ray caught down past the stones last sat evening,there a few times this year that ray have been got,a competition in front of the prom a few weeks ago there were a load got.any fish baits and water has to be flat calm.the bay do be full of ray at times till the trawlers get them :evil: :evil: .

apparently tope are being caught in the bristol channel at the moment and a few were caught in red bay so doubt if water temperature is an issue. thats interesting that theirs reports of them, wouldnt mind a go off 1!!
shore species 2008(25):dogfish(3.1lbs), bull huss (12lb 2oz), bass, shore rockling, coalie, whiting, pollack, conger (22.4lbs),flounder, thick lipped mullet (4.8lbs),turbot,ling (11.2lbs),ballan wrasse(4.5lbs), cuckoo wrasse, pouting, poor cod, cod (9.5lbs), dab, 3 bearded rockling, long spined scorpion fish, corkwing wrasse, plaice, trigger fish, sea trout, garfish

The tope were not caught off the beach. There were a few tope taken in tramore area but they were caught in nets
