With so many out there can we start a poll of sorts, I am talking MATCH ROD medium to clean ground. A rod that can cast and with good bite detection to. It a bit of fun lads and you may help some people as well.
afaw big beach.lots of power and very good bite detection.14ft.and has done very well on the casting court and its not a tournament rod in any way but an out and out fishing rod.another fine match rod is the zziplex 2500ptx superb bite detection .!!cheers john

Greys Triplex 14' 5oz. Outstanding bite detection and with 5 and 6 oz I was absolutely leathering large baits out on pulleys at the weekend teamed with a Sportsmag.
Fluff chucking is the new black..... Rampant Wreckfish is a fly angler in denial
I have to agree with the Century Tip Tornado Supermatch it really is a great all rounder and has served me well, although my conflex pulse still gets the odd outing from time to time.
the penn ppt viper certainly suits the bill, super lightweight ,superb bite
detection, and has a bit of back-bone when needed, plus the fact its
half the price of its more favoured competitors.
I have problems I know!!  but no I don't own all of them, just some of them, but would have used each one at some point or know of Matchmen that would swear by them.
i have a conoflex celtic tiger for distance match fishing and a grauvell tektron with the mixed tip for close in fishing with delicate baits. covers all aspects i think
all depends on the ground, as their can be a big difference in a 'match' rod and one suitable for mixed ground. for that kind of work i use a greys supro, for the clean beach matches i use a zzipy 3500 and a greys triplex 16ft, but will be on the market soon again for a rod for the scratchy stuff - maybe a grauvell HM surf with 2 tips.... aint decided yet.
Not the BigPhil from Irish Angler mag, I'm the original, i swear!!!!
Prefer my 10yr old Daiwa Powermesh HPB over my Tip Tornado match or maybe thats cos i've been using it so long
Another one is the old original 2500 Zzippy, the old man has one he built from a blank back in the early 80's still going strong, great bite detection & decent casting ability. He won't fecking swap me it for anything
