Waterfoot Pier (Redbay)

#1 Post by jamie »

Just wondering how this is fishing at the moment - was thinking of heading down about 9am on Sunday morning. Rag and Mack is choice of bait - is it worth my while or should I stay at home and wish I was fishing like I do alot during winter!!!

Could be better staying home day time is poor maybe a few flounder if your lucky you will catch small whiting coalfish dab flounder codling at this mark after dark id go for a rockmark or try the ledge but the fishing is slow.

We fished it late saturday/early sunday using rag, mack, squid and sandeel and the sum total was lots of small whiting, a few smallish coalies, a dab ,a plaice and too many crabs.
The fishing was steady until about 2 hours after high water when it stopped dead so we went home frozen to the bone.
still good to get out though.

Trust me Jamie - this mark does not fish well at all during the day at this time of year.

Night time is you best bet - fish in close for coalies, pollock, codling and dabs.
