DAIWA-CORMOROAN ROD

#1 Post by KK »

Heard a bit of talk about these rods on the net so i got one-16ft long this thing is a monster. tried it once and cast was average and then was on greystones the other day and gave my friend a go of it with just the lead and what a result the lead flew out of site. the line almost emptyed off the reel. the longest cast i have ever seen. has anyone else got on of these rods??
It turned out i was casting to low so with a bit of practice i can easly send a lead 2-3 times further than i ever could with this rod. and its just a simple over head cast

seen alot of the cormoran rods for sale on e-bay...
from the write ups they seem to be ok.. as well as cheap.. usually sell 2 rods and reels as a deal for less than 70 euro

This is the website for Cormoran Tackle. From what i grasp they're the budget arm of Daiwa, a lot of their spinning reels has more than a slight resemblance to some Daiwa stuff, colour, shape etc.

Just hope the newer stuff they're churning out has improved, i bought one of their spinning reels bout 3yrs ago, got 3 trips out of it and it crapped itself on the first decent fish. Opened it up and it was minus about 6 teeth on the main gear! made out of soft crap.

Just found this on the website.

Cormoran Tackle
Cormoran- the brand with unlimited guarantees!
Anglers were given exemplary guarantees by Cormoran:

• Full guarantee: problem-free replacement of rods and reels covered by the guarantee card. Without questioning the handling and so on.

• Satisfaction guarantee: Cormoran grants every angler the right to exchange the product if the consumer is not satisfied with the product and its performance.

Wish that info was included with the spinning reel i bought !

I have looked as well and as they say if it looks to good to be true its possible a lot of SH1T. The day a cheap yet good quailty rod and reel come out we will all know about it .

I've seen one of those long Cormoran rods, you cast one of them, light a fag, have your lunch and the blank might just have recovered enough at that stage to fling the lead out....

Well for anyone who has trouble with distance casting they can buy this rod and fling a bait twice as far as before. it also has a luvly tip for bite detection the only down fall i can see is that its a bit bulky in the butt but thats expected in a 16ft rod!!
