swim bladder is very prone to poppin out on ling when taken from depth...
Not the BigPhil from Irish Angler mag, I'm the original, i swear!!!!

but are they fecked once this happens to them - just out of interest and not wanting to start off a conservation rant :roll:

you can tell i havent done boat fishing much - hear about the pollack coming up off wrecks doing this alright - changing pressures etc.

by the way great pic of the scorpion - and crackin ling :)

Unfortunately so. I guess an even slower retrieve, and then a rest along the way may help. I have reduced the number of blown wrasse from the boat doing this.

Heres a spurdog for the list ,its one of 6 I caught today fishing ballycastle the best one was 14lb (on my skate gear 10/0 pennel rig ,whole mackerel ,greedy bugger )
